Manuel Antonio at a Glance
Manuel Antonio, a gem among Costa Rica's nature reserves, is the most visited park in Costa Rica by both locals and foreigners alike. A lush blanket of tropical green spills headlong onto several hidden, jungle-lined beaches forming Costa Rica's smallest nature reserve.
Within this magnificent dreamscape you will find yourself surrounded by whimsical white-faced monkeys, loud and colorful parrots, giant toucans, three-toed sloths and a whole host of rare plant and animal species that inspire and overwhelm the senses. The birding opportunities are nothing short of fantastic with hundreds of species spotted in the park's small boundaries. Easy walking trails take in sweeping vistas of Costa Rica's dramatic coastline and meander through primary rainforest with over 300 species of trees.
The secluded beaches and unworldly vistas create a special sanctuary to rest the soul. Manuel Antonio is a perfect haven to listen to distant howler monkeys, ponder giant leaf-cutter ants and rejuvenate in the park's balmy waters. The park is open 7 am to 5 pm daily, except Mondays. Admission is approximately $8 U.S.
